Islip, NY - March 14, 2017 - The Blizzard Warning is no longer in effect for our area, but a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until midnight tonight. Snow, sleet, and rain will continue throughout the morning. Though snow accumulation may decrease, roads will still be hazardous because of the wet, icy conditions. Winds will remain steady around 30mph, with possible gusts up to 50mph. Coastal flood warnings remain in effect for the duration of the storm.

Town crews have been out since 3:00 a.m. salting, sanding, and plowing roads to make them as navigable as possible. We urge residents not to travel unless absolutely necessary, and to keep cars off of the roads.
