NYS Parks Announce Annual Spring Egg Hunt at Belmont Lake and Orient Beach State Parks

North Babylon/Orient, NY - March 10, 2017 - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce the 24th annual Spring Egg Hunt at Belmont Lake State Park will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 12:00PM-2:00PM. There is no rain date for this event. And, the Orient Beach State Park’s 28th annual Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00AM in the picnic area. If necessary, a rain date for this event will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 1:00PM.

24th annual Spring Egg Hunt at Belmont Lake State Park
Egg hunts will begin every 15 minutes, starting at 12:15PM. Children will hunt for eggs in three separate age groups: ages 4 and under, ages 5-6, and ages 7-9. This event is co-sponsored by radio stations WBAB (102.3FM) and WBLI (106.1FM), Renewal by Andersen, and the Natural Heritage Trust.

In addition to the hunt, there will be a petting zoo, pony rides, environmental crafts, a visit by the Spring Bunny and more. All activities are free; however the standard $8 vehicle use fee will be in effect.

Orient Beach State Park’s 28th annual Egg Hunt

The public is invited to share in this special occasion. The Spring Bunny will be on hand to greet everyone and prizes will be awarded to the children who find the “special eggs”. This event is co-sponsored by Greenport Primary Medical Care – Winthrop Medical Affiliates and the Natural Heritage Trust.
