Man Arrested in Long Beach for Sale of Heroin on Multiple Occasions

Long Beach, NY - March 12, 2017 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Hempstead man for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance that occurred in Long Beach.

According to Narcotics Vice Squad detectives and the Long Beach Police Department, defendant Markee Reeder, 40, of Hempstead was observed by police on various dates in February and March 2017 possessing quantities of heroin and agreed to sell to another for US currency.  The defendant was also a subject in a sale of heroin that resulted in a fatal overdose of a 41 year old male who resided in Long Beach.

On March 11, 2017 the defendant was observed by Long Beach Police Department detectives in the rear passenger seat of a 2014 Nissan Sentra traveling on East Broadway and Riverside Blvd, Long Beach.  A vehicle stop was conducted and the defendant was placed under arrest without incident.  Subsequent to the arrest, defendant Reeder did possess a Greyhound bus ticket to Florida dated March 12, 2017.

Defendant Reeder is being charged with 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
