Cold Spring Harbor, NY - March 12, 2018 - Suffolk County Police arrested a high school student for falsely reporting an incident after she called 911 and reported a school shooting.
 
A 16-year-old Cold Spring Harbor Junior Senior High School student walked out of the school on Friday, March 9 at 11:10 a.m. after a dispute with administrators. The student went home, called 911 at 10:44 a.m., and reported a threat of a shooting at a school within the Cold Spring Harbor School District.   
 
Following an investigation, Second Precinct officers located the student at her home in Cold Spring Harbor, NY at 11:10 a.m. She was arrested and charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident.
 
The student was transported to Huntington Hospital for evaluation and will be scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
