Legislator Anker Provides Community Updates on LI News Radio's "Eye on Crime"

Ronkonkoma, NY - March 11, 2015 - Legislator Sarah Anker recently visited LI News Radio’s “Eye on Crime” hosted by Tom Schiliro. The radio talk show focuses on recent crime and police advisories throughout Suffolk County, and addresses ways in which issues are being resolved. 
 
Legislator Anker discussed her district's top public safety projects. Throughout her tenure in office, Anker has facilitated numerous community neighborhood watch programs, which have resulted in increased community involvement and awareness on potential criminal activity in effort to help our local police. 
 
In addition, she has spearheaded the SAVE (School Active Violence Emergency) Hotline program, which has been implemented in 330 schools throughout Suffolk County. Lastly, Legislator Anker spoke about the importance of addressing drug issues, and the various programs she has helped sponsor with local school districts to bring awareness towards the heroin epidemic. 
 
“I want to thank Tom for his public advocacy and dedication in making Suffolk County a safer place to live,” said Legislator Anker. “With his long-time experience in law enforcement, it’s always great to discuss and learn about public safety initiatives.”
