Port Jefferson, NY - March 12, 2015 - On February 28, Legislator Anker attended the “Light a Candle for Jason” ceremony, an event of remembrance hosted by Hope House Ministries in Port Jefferson. The gathering included the lighting of candles to honor those who have died from or are struggling with drug addiction or mental health issues. Father Frank Pizzarelli, Founder and Executive Director of Hope House, presided over the gathering and provided words of hope and support.

“By lighting the candles and standing in solidarity with each other, my hope would be it might spark a national conversation on this very serious health crisis,” said Father Frank.

“Drug addiction and mental health issues have become a national crisis. We must do more and I honor Father Frank and his efforts to support and advocate for the many people who are struggling,” said Legislator Anker.
