NCPD Investigating Westbury Robbery

Westbury, NY - March 9, 2014 - The Third Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. in Westbury.
 
According to detectives, a female victim, 46 years of age, was walking eastbound on Winthrop Street when she was approached by a female black who asked to borrow her cell phone. When the victim refused, the suspect shoved her to the ground and punched her in the face. The suspect removed the victim’s pocketbook which contained her cell phone, along with personal papers, and fled on foot eastbound towards School Street. She is further described as approximately 5’3” tall, heavy set, wearing a black coat, blue hooded sweatshirt and a black head covering. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
