Woman Critically Injured After Being Ejected from Car in Two-Vehicle Crash

Copiague, NY - March 4, 2017 - Suffolk Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles in Copiague at approximately 4:20 p.m. Saturday.

Tongi King was operating a 2002 Toyota southbound on Dixon Avenue, attempting to make a left turn onto Bethpage Road, when her vehicle was struck by a 2017 Honda traveling northbound on Dixon Avenue operated by Eduard Espinal.

King, 39, of Copiague, was ejected from the vehicle.  She was transported via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where she is listed in critical condition. 

Espinal , 33, of Amityville stayed at the scene and was transported by Copiague Ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
