Wondering what the weather is going to look like this weekend? LongIsland.com's Weekend Weather Update has the need-to-know forecast details for Long Island - unlike some other weather updates, LI is our ONLY focus!

This weekend kicks off with some snow on Friday, but the forecast will be looking up the rest of the weekend!

Thursday Night Into Friday
A Hazardous Weather Outlook is in effect for all of Long Island for Thursday into Friday Morning due to the high chance (currently a 50% - 80%) of snowfall across Long Island. Thursday Night accumulations will be up to 1/2 an inch, and on Friday, we can expect up to 2 more inches before noon. Also in effect is a Gale Warning for both the North Shore, and South Shore, meaning things might be windy out there on the waters tomorrow, and boaters should plan accordingly.

The National Weather Service advises that this snowfall could create hazardous travel conditions on the road late Thursday night into Friday morning, and Long Islanders are urged to take caution on the roads - especially during the Friday Morning Commute.

Before you hit the road Friday Morning, be sure to head over to LongIsland.com's Traffic Center for real-time Traffic Updates, and check out our Live Feed Traffic Cams to see how the roads look before you start your morning commute!

Temps are supposed to be as high as the mid 30
°s on Friday, with lows in the evening in the high 20°s.

Saturday
Luckily for Long Islanders, it looks like Friday's snow flurries are going to stop midday, and Saturday is going to be cool, crisp, and bright - perfect weather for checking out one of the many Saint Patrick's Day Parades kicking off the month of March this weekend, including the Kings Park St. Patrick's Day Parade, which kicks off the holiday season at noon! Saturday will be mostly sunny, with highs reaching into the 40
°s, which may help any accumulated snow melt. After a week of mixed weather with rain and snow, this weekend is looking like it will be another great weather weekend!

Saturday night, there is a 20% chance of another light dusting of snow with little to no accumulation, and evening temps will reach a low of around 30
°.

Sunday
Temps will start to rise again on Sunday, with highs in the mid-to-high 40
°s with lots of sunshine, and little cloud coverage. Another perfect day to enjoy one of the numerous Saint Patty's Day Parades that will be making their way down Main Streets across the Island this Sunday. For those of you who love the great outdoors, it's also a perfect weekend to enjoy a Seal Hike out on the East End, where you'll encounter some of LI's exciting wildlife!

This Coming Week
Next week, Long Island is really going to feel the transition into Springtime - the week kicks off with highs in the mid-50s
°s on Monday, and temps could reach up to the mid-60°s by midweek, and continue into next weekend! The week will be a mix of bright, sunny days, and days with some cloud coverage, but there won't be any snow, and temps will continue to stay much warmer as we get closer to the first day of Spring.
