Comptroller Maragos Appoints Karen C. Green Communications Director

Mineola, NY - March 1, 2017 - Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos announced the appointment of Karen C. Green as Director of Communications.  An experienced communications and government relations professional, Karen previously served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C., and Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the Jewish Star newspaper, a Richner Communications publication.  In her public sector career, she has served in the Suozzi Administration and The New York City Office of Management and Budget. 

“Ms. Karen Green is an experienced communications and public relations professional with a strong background in budget and finance,” said Comptroller George Maragos. “Karen will continue the Comptroller’s office initiatives of complete government transparency, responsiveness to the press, and outreach to residents through all the media channels including social media.”

A resident of Woodmere, Ms. Green is active in the Five Towns community and has advocated for numerous community causes. Ms. Green holds a Masters of Public Administration from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Baruch College.
