March comes in like a lion, and it is coming in this year in the form of what is hopefully the last snowstorm to cap off the winter. 

There will be a winter storm watch in effect for all of Long Island from Sunday at 3 p.m. to Monday at 3 p.m.  The National Weather Service is predicting that Winter Storm Titan will first strike on Sunday with a mix of rain and snow and high temperatures in the mid-30s.  Up to half an inch of snow accumulation is expected.

The majority of the storm will come Sunday night, with accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible, and an additional 2 to 4 inches are predicted for Monday, which may mean school delays or cancellations.  There is the potential for snowfall at a rate of one inch per hour, and winds will also be gusting up to 30 miles per hour, which will reduce visibility to less than a mile at times.  The NWS is expecting hazardous travel conditions due to these reduced visibilities and snow accumulations, which will make the Monday morning commute especially treacherous.
