Assemblywoman Solages Honors Good Samaritan of the Month: Stacy Pierre-Louis

Written by Long Island News & PR  |  29. February 2016

Elmont, NY - February 28th, 2016 - On February 19, 2016, Stacy Vanessa Pierre-Louis was honored for her initiative, “Beauty over Bullying”. Drawing from her own personal experience, she created a YouTube video to empower young women and increase self-esteem by wearing no makeup. Stacy’s video went viral, demonstrating that young women are more dynamic than what they seem on the outside.

“Stacy is giving a voice to victims of bullying and providing a space for them to boost their self-esteem,” stated Assemblywoman Solages.

“She is an exemplary citizen who has channeled a negative experience into a positive one. Bullying is a serious issue that affects many young people, and the public and permanent nature of the acts today - because of social-networking sites, technology and the Internet - make it very real. Stacy’s video tells young girls that we should not let our identity be defined by how others perceive us.”

Stacy will continue to use social media to raise awareness and inspire young girls to be fearless.
