Nassau County, NY - February 28, 2014 - In the continued war on prescription drug abuse and the heroin epidemic, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced four free public Narcan training seminars where residents can learn how to administer a lifesaving antidote which can reverse the fatal effects of an Opioid overdose. Narcan is simply administered through a nasal spray, by those who complete the 90-minute training. Trainees who are over the age of 18 will receive a free nasal Narcan kit.

County Executive Mangano stated, “My administration continues to dedicate itself to education, awareness and enforcement programs, including our free Narcan training program which is saving lives and keeping families whole.”
