62-Year-Old Woman Killed in Ronkonkoma Crash

Ronkonkoma, NY - February 25, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Ronkonkoma last night.

Cynthia Chorzempa was crossing Ronkonkoma Avenue from west to east in front of 132 Ronkonkoma Ave. when she was struck by a 2011 GMC Yukon at approximately 8 p.m. The driver of the GMC, Kelly Lettieri, stayed at the scene.

Chorzempa, 62, of Holbrook, was transported by Ronkonkoma Rescue to Stony Brook University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Lettieri, 47, of Oakdale, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
