SCPD Officer Rescues Woman Who Fell Into Water in Mastic Beach

Mastic Beach, NY - February 25th, 2016 - A Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct police officer pulled a woman from the water in Mastic Beach after she and her dog fell off a dock this afternoon.

A 53-year-old Mastic Beach woman was walking her two dogs on the docks at the corner of Forest Road East and West Riviera Drive in Mastic Beach when the woman and her dog fell in to the water at 12:20 p.m.

A witness called 911 and Seventh Precinct Patrol Officer Matthew White responded and pulled the woman out of chest deep water. The witness was able to rescue the dog.


The victim, who had been in the water for approximately 10 minutes, was transported by Mastic Beach Ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue for treatment of hypothermia.
