Nesconset, NY - February 26, 2015 - A Suffolk County Police officer saved a Nesconset boy who was suffering from an allergic reaction by injecting him with an EpiPen at his home yesterday.

Fourth Precinct Police Officer Robert Fulton responded to 31 Lincoln Ave. after a 911 caller reported a 12-year-old boy was suffering from a severe allergic reaction after eating a candy bar that contained nuts at approximately 3:25 p.m.

When Officer Fulton arrived, he applied oxygen and, after receiving permission from Stony Brook Medical Control, administered a single injection from an EpiPen prescribed for the boy, Gavin Oggeri. Oggeri, who was home with his 15-year-old brother at the time of the incident, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.

Officer Fulton joined the Suffolk County Police Department in October 2014 having previously been a member of the Suffolk County Parks Police for 15 years.
