Rocky Point / Miller Place, NY - February 24, 2017 - The communities of Miller Place and Rocky Point, along with the neighboring hamlets of Brookhaven's North Shore, are gearing up for an annual rite of Spring. The Friends of St. Patrick are pleased to announce that the 67th annual Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2017.

The event will kick off at the comer of Harrison Avenue in Miller Place at 1:00 p.m. sharp and will proceed east along Route 25A before ending at the corner of Route 25A and Broadway in downtown Rocky Point. While the idea of shortening the parade route was briefly considered, due to overwhelming popular demand, the length has not been changed.

Typically, over 50,000 spectators line the parade route to enjoy this wonderful event. Grand Marshall Joseph Cognitore will be near the front of the parade, along with numerous local leaders and dignitaries. Parade Queen Jessica Wooley, accompanied by her Royal Court of Michelle Wooley and Anna Maria Jacobsen will don their tiaras and be waving to the crowd from their Royal Float. This year's parade promises to be chock full of excitement, with numerous pipe bands, marching bands, marchers and floats galore.

A fundraising cocktail party is being held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the East Wind Grand Ballroom from 4-8 p.m. There will be Irish music, food, dancers and moderately priced drinks. The highlights of the party include the introduction of our Grand Marhsall and the crowning of our Queen and her Court. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at McCarrick's Dairy, the Hartlin Inn or the Law Office of James E. McElhone.
