Weekend Weather Update: LI Looking Forward to a Sunny, Windy Weekend

Written by Cait Russell  |  25. February 2016

Wondering what the weather is going to look like this weekend? LongIsland.com's Weekend Weather Update has the need-to-know forecast details for Long Island - unlike some other weather updates, LI is our ONLY focus!

Friday
The weekend kicks off with a blustery, windy day, following the major thunderstorm that struck the Island Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Thanksfully, the winds won't be as strong, and as of today, no Warnings or Advisories have been issued by the NWS. Though temps will get all the way up to the high 30s, the wind chill factor in the aftternoon into the evening will have LI feeling much chillier.

Saturday
This Saturday will again beo a beautiful sunny day with minimal cloud coverage, although temps will be lower than last weekend, with a high of 37 degrees, and a low of 34 degrees. There will still be some slight winds, but nothing that should impact any weekend plans. Temps on Saturday will reach the mid-30s, with lows in the evening in the low 30s.

Sunday
Sunday is looking like your best bet for outdoor weekend fun - temps will be in the mid-to-high 40s, and the sun will be out with some occassional cloud coverage.

This Coming Week
Things are looking up for the firs week of March - the week kicks off with temps breaking into the 50s on Monday, and staying in the mid-40s throughout the week, with sunny skies with mild cloud coverage. There is a chance of rain mid-week, but overall, it's beginning to look a lot like Spring here on Long Island!
