Written by Long Island News & PR  |  25. February 2015

Mount Sinai, NY - February 25, 2015 -  Legislator Sarah Anker reminds Suffolk County residents to be aware of the many scams being conducted through mail, telephone, and the internet. Through Legislator Anker’s initiative, the Suffolk County Police Department launched www.SCPDscamalert.org, which gives county residents information on current scams.

“I encourage residents who have experienced deceptive scams to send information to the Suffolk County Police Department,” said Legislator Anker. “By providing information and creating awareness, we can reduce and deter those who are conducting scams.”

“The Suffolk County Police Department is proud to be part of this initiative that will alert residents in the community of potential scams,” said Suffolk County Police Commissioner Edward Webber.

“Our hope is that if people go online and educate themselves about various scams, they will be less likely to be victimized.”
