UPDATE - Passenger Killed After Being Ejected from Vehicle During Multi-Vehicle Crash on LIE
Update - February 26, 2017 - The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of Areefeen Hirji, 19, of Muttontown. Hirji is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Death. He will be arraigned on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.

Update - February 24, 2017 - The Homicide Squad reports the arrest of Jonnathan Santos, 20, of Manhasset. Defendant Santos is being charged with Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd Degree and Driving While Impaired. He will be arraigned on Friday, February 24, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.

Woodbury, NY - February 24, 2017 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal vehicular accident which occurred on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 11:48 pm in Woodbury.
According to detectives, Nassau County Highway Patrol units responded to a multi vehicle accident on the eastbound Long Island Expressway in the vicinity of exit 44. One of the vehicles struck a guard rail, ejecting a passenger. That passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
