Mastic Beach, NY - February 23, 2016 - The William Paca Middle School Robotics/STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Club recently put their engineering skills to the test at the “First Lego League” Robotics Competition Qualifying Tournament earlier this month.

Under the leadership of advisor and William Paca science teacher Emmanuel Nigro, the students competed in the Trash Trek Challenge, in which they explored “the hidden but fascinating world of trash from collection to sorting, smart production and re-use.”

Students also worked up coming up with a solution to alleviate the problem of trash and create their own LEGO Mindstorm robot to accomplish trash-themed missions!
