Uniondale Teen Arrested for Robbing Hicksville Mini Mart, Stabbing Clerk

Hicksville, NY - February 22nd, 2014 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for a Robbery that occurred on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 8:38 a.m. in Hicksville.
 
According to detectives, the defendant Syaleek Anderson, 19 of 50 Patterson Avenue entered the American Mini Mart located at 99 Railroad Plaza armed with a knife and stabbed the male victim/clerk 49 years of age, in the back. As Anderson began placing the money from the register into a bag, the victim ran outside the store and locked the defendant inside. Upon police arrival Anderson resisted arrest by flailing his arms and kicking his feet while the officers placed him under arrest. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was admitted in serious condition. The knife was recovered at the scene.
 
Anderson is charged with (3) three counts of Robbery 1st degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
