Police: Holtsville Woman Arrested After Driving Drunk with 9 Year-Old Son in Vehicle

Massapequa, NY - February 21, 2018 - The Seventh Precinct reports the arrest of a Holtsville woman for DWI (Leandra’s Law) the occurred on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11:10 pm in Massapequa.
 
According to police, officers responded to a 911 call for a possible DWI. While canvassing the area, police observed a 2017 Nissan Maxima parked idling in the vicinity of S. Bayview Avenue and Mohawk Place. After initiating an investigation, the officer observed Angela Briel, 34, to be intoxicated. Her 9-year-old son was in the front passenger seat. Briel was arrested without incident. The child was released to a relative.   
 
Defendant Briel is charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Child 15), Endangering Welfare of Child and Operating Motor Vehicle by Unlicensed Driver. She will be arraigned Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead
