Legislator Anker Announces Autism Not-for-Profit Opening New Office, Resource Center in Lake Grove

On Sunday, February 18th, the not-for-profit organization Specialized Autism Support and Information (SASI) hosted a grand opening event at their new office and resource center in Lake Grove.

Lake Grove, NY - February 21, 2018 - On Sunday, February 18th, the not-for-profit organization Specialized Autism Support and Information (SASI) hosted a grand opening event at their new office and resource center in Lake Grove. Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined community leaders, elected officials, and members of SASI for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new center, which will serve over 2,500 families and individuals across Long Island who are affected by Autism.
 
“I am honored to attend the grand opening of the new SASI office and resource center, which will be an invaluable community gem to help support and guide many individuals and families affected by autism,” said Legislator Anker. “Thank you to the co-founders, Priscilla Arena and Stephanie Mendelson, who have worked tirelessly to serve others and to make this resource center a reality.”
 
“We hope that the opening of this new office and autism resource center will help to bring much needed information and resources to our communities here on Long Island and help create better outcomes for children and families affected by autism,” said Stephanie Mendelson and Priscilla Arena, co-founders of SASI.
 
The new SASI office is located at 2233 Nesconset Highway, Suite 202, in Lake Grove. The center includes executive offices, a community space for programs and support meetings, an on-site autism advocate, and a lending library.
