Babylon, NY - February 19, 2017 - A Suffolk County First Precinct police officer helped deliver a baby in Babylon yesterday.

Police Officer Weldon Drayton responded to a 911 call at approximately 3:50 a.m. for a 34-year-old woman in active labor at her home, located on Whalers Cove. Officer Drayton, along with an EMT from the Babylon Fire Department, assisted the mother in delivering a healthy baby boy who arrived at 4:08 a.m.

The mother and baby were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip via Babylon Fire Department.
