East Meadow, NY - February 19, 2017 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal vehicular accident which occurred on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:50 pm in East Meadow.

According to detectives, Erick Galletti, 27, of Dix Hills was traveling westbound on Hempstead Turnpike operating a 2016 Kawasaki motorcycle when he struck a 2011 Toyota in the driver’s side door.  The Toyota, driven by a 28 year old male, was attempting to cross from a parking lot on the north side of Hempstead Turnpike to the eastbound lanes just west of Newbridge Road.  Both the driver of the Toyota, along with a 25 year old female passenger, was transported to an area hospital for treatment for their non-life threatening injuries.  Erick Galetti was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 12:06 am by hospital staff.  The investigation is ongoing.
