NCPD: New Jersey Teen Arrested for Snatching Packages from Cedarhurst, Woodmere Stoops

Cedarhurst, NY - February 19, 2019 - Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of Justin Hines, 22, of East Orange, N.J. in connection with multiple larcenies of packages that occurred in the confines of the Fourth Precinct on Saturday, February 16, 2019 around 3:30 pm.
 
According to detectives, video obtained from a homeowner at a Lincoln Street, Cedarhurst residence shows defendant Justin Hines pulling up in a red Volkswagen Golf vehicle, exiting his car, walking up and onto the stoop of the home and removing packages that were delivered and left at an earlier time that day.
 
A subsequent investigation revealed that similar instances of package theft were committed on the same date by Hines at two other Park Lane homes in Woodmere.
 
Hines is charged with three (3) counts of Petit Larceny and will be arraignment in First District Court, Hempstead on 2/19/2019.
 
Detectives request anyone with information regarding these incidents to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
