Officials: Inwood Man Arrested in Connection with Multiple Larcenies from Parked Vehicles

Cedarhurst, NY - February 19, 2018 - Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of an Inwood man for incidents that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, February 16, 2018.
 
According to detectives, Justin Valentin, 19, who was the subject of a 911 call, for one of two suspicious persons looking into parked vehicles, was located by Fourth Precinct officers and stopped in front of a Rockaway Turnpike home in Cedarhurst.
 
A subsequent investigation at the scene revealed that Valentin was in possession of items regarding larcenies that had occurred sometime earlier that morning from vehicles that were parked on Arbuckle Avenue, Woodmere and Clubhouse Road, Woodmere. He was then placed under arrest without incident.
 
Valentin is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. He was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 2/17/2018.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
