SCPD: Street in Commack Shut Down After Man Driving Shot by Another Motorist

Police say the victim drove himself to a local area hospital following the shooting; his wounds are described as non-life threatening.

The Suffolk County Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that took place in Commack on Monday, February 16.
 
At approximately 2:15 a.m., the unidentified male victim was reportedly driving southbound on Commack Road when he was shot by an individual an another car, just north of the Long Island Expressway.
 
It is currently unknown which direction the shooting suspect's vehicle was driving, and authorities have not yet provided any details regarding the make and model of their vehicle.
 
Police say the victim drove himself to a local area hospital following the shooting; his wounds are described as non-life threatening, and he is expected to be released later today.
 
Detectives closed down Commack Road in the vicinity of the shooting for several hours and are currently looking for evidence and are asking local businesses of any surveillance footage of the incident they may have.
