Pedestrian Killed in Ronkonkoma Hit-and-Run Crash, Suffolk Police Report

SCPD are investigating a hit-and-run that killed a Ronkonkoma pedestrian.

Ronkonkoma, NY - February 15, 2019 - Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in Ronkonkoma.
 
Christopher Grassia was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on Rosevale Ave., south of Richmond Blvd., and a passerby discovered the victim and called 911 at approximately 12:20 a.m. Police believe the vehicle was a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck with front end damage as a result of the crash and that the incident may have occurred between 7:20 p.m. on February 14 and 12:20 a.m. today.
 
Grassia, 46, of Ronkonkoma, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The investigation is continuing.
