Uniondale, NY - February 15, 2018 - PSEG Long Island today announced a joint promotion with BMW of North America to offer PSEG Long Island customers $10,000 off the best negotiated price for a new BMW i3 electric car. The promotion is open to customers of PSEG Long Island and is available from February 15 until April 30, 2018.

“Electric cars like the new BMW i3 reduce air emissions compared to gasoline vehicles and actually cost less to operate,” said Michael Voltz, Director of Energy Efficiency at PSEG Long Island. “Every electric car model has its own specifications to suit the needs of different consumers. If the 2018 i3 is right for our customers’ driving needs, then they can save money on a new car and help the environment at the same time.”

In addition to the $10,000 discount from BMW, customers could also be eligible for up to $7,500 in federal tax credits. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority also offers a $1,700 rebate on electric vehicles.

“The BMW i3 is the best-selling premium electric vehicle in the world,” said Magnus Aspegren, Strategy Manager, Electromobility at BMW of North America. “With a range of up to 114 miles on a single charge and the same uncompromised driving performance typical of every BMW model, the BMW i3 is also proof that driving electric is as practical as it is fun.”

The BMW incentive and potential federal tax credit equal roughly one-third of the base i3 model price. The BMW incentive is off the best offer negotiated with a dealer and is given at the time of sale.

To take advantage of this offer, PSEG Long Island customers must download a PSEG/BMW Customer Information Form at www.psegliny.com/goelectric and take it to any authorized BMW dealership (the dealer can be outside PSEG Long Island’s service territory) along with a copy of their PSEG Long Island bill.
