Massapequa Home "Engulfed in Flames", 40 Firefighters Needed to Put Out Blaze

Massapequa, NY - February 15th, 2016 - The Arson / Bomb Squad reports the details of a house fire that occurred in Massapequa on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at 10:00 am.

According to detectives, Seventh Precinct Police Officers along with the Massapequa Fire Department responded to a house fire that occurred on Bayview Avenue. The House was fully engulfed with flames upon their arrival. All occupants of the house safely exited.

The Nassau County Arson / Bomb Squad along with The Nassau County Fire Marshal responded and determined that the fire was accidental, the result of a defective fireplace. Forty Massapequa Fireman with four apparatus responded to extinguish the flames.

The fire caused extensive damage to the home. Three Fireman suffered minor injuries. They were all treated and released at the scene.
