Rocky Point, NY - February 14, 2018 - On Monday, February 12, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker honored Gentle Strength Yoga Studio with a proclamation for their commitment to helping the local community. Gentle Strength Yoga Studio, owned by Christine Cirolli, opened in Rocky Point in 2013 and offers a variety of classes, including a free 12-step recovery yoga program (Y12SR) for those affected by alcohol addiction.

In addition, they have fundraised to help local families in need. For their holiday fundraiser, yoga teacher Andrea Petterson, who was recognized with a certificate of appreciation from Legislator Anker, sold hand-made holiday ornaments and then donated the funds to families from North Shore Youth Council.

“I am pleased to recognize Christine, Andrea, and all of the members of Gentle Strength Yoga Studio for their hard work and altruism,” said Legislator Anker. “Christine has created an amazing space where she is dedicated to helping her students, and her students and teachers are then inspired to help the local community. I would like to thank Gentle Strength for all that they do.”
