Huntington Town Clerk Andrew P. Raia will be performing his annual Valentine’s Day Marriage Marathon as the Town’s Marriage Officer on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14th, from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm.  And, just announced, Huntington Town Councilwoman Theresa Mari will be joining the event as an extra special guest officiant.

Town Clerk Raia, Councilwoman Mari and Councilman Bennardo will be performing marriages by appointment only and will take place in the Town Board Room at Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main Street, Huntington.

“Having a wedding on Valentine's Day makes the holiday more memorable and a wedding you will never forget,” said Town Clerk Andrew Raia.  “It is an honor and a privilege to join two people in a lifetime of love and commitment and it’s the part of my job that is the most heartwarming.”

First initiated in 1995 by then Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia, the Annual Huntington Town Valentine’s Day Marriage Marathon has always been well received by all the participating couples and guests.   Town Clerk Andrew Raia is honored to continue this special event initiated by his predecessor and mother, Jo-Ann Raia.

“Love is the most powerful commitment we make, and there is no better day than Valentine’s Day to say “forever”, said Councilwoman Theresa Mari.  “I am honored to help celebrate so many love stories in one joyful moment”.

Councilman Dr. Dave Bennardo added, “I am humbled by the opportunity to play even a small part in something as wholesome and beautiful as a wedding ceremony.  I pray the couples we marry today are blessed with homes filled unending friendship, love, and partnership”.

The 10 marriage ceremonies will be performed in the Huntington Town Board Room from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm by appointment only; there is no charge to the couple for the ceremony and their guests are welcome to attend the ceremony and reception.  To make an appointment, please call the Laura Conte in the Town Clerk’s Office at (631) 351-3216 or email araia@huntingtonny.gov.
