Roslyn, NY - February 13, 2019 - The Nassau County Police Department reports the details of a serious aided that occurred on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 8:05 a.m. in Roslyn Heights.
 
According to police, officers were called to a construction site in the vicinity of Corncrib Lane and Locust Lane for an injured construction worker. While working at the site, the male victim, 39, was struck by a large steel plate throwing him down a hole approximately ten feet deep. As the plate struck the victim it severed both of his legs below his knees. 
 
The officers were able to gain access to the victim in the hole and apply tourniquets to control bleeding. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
