Islip, NY - February 10th, 2015 - Town of Islip Highway Crews were out in full force on Friday, January 30th, to address potholes in various locations throughout the Town. Islip Town Council Members, John Cochrane Jr., and Steve Flotteron met with highway crews during the operation to assess damage to the Town’s infrastructure.

This Winter has taken a serious toll on our roadways,” noted Councilman Cochrane. “Our highway crews are currently assessing pothole damage all over the Town, and as the weather permits, will make necessary repairs so that our residents and motorists enjoy safe passage.”

“We ask that our residents help us in the effort to fill dangerous potholes, by calling the Department of Public Works at 631-224-5600, to report a pothole,” added Councilman Flotteron.

The Department of Public Works has repaired nearly 6,800 potholes since January 1, 2015.
