The Suffolk County Police Department is hosting the annual Auxiliary Police graduation on February 12 at 7 p.m. at the Police Academy in Brentwood.
Following the completion of 250 hours of training that began in September 2025, six volunteers will be joining the department as New York State certified peace officers. The training includes a variety of topics including CPR/First Aid, traffic control, laws of arrest, penal law, criminal procedure law and crisis intervention.
Auxiliary Police is a volunteer unit trained and equipped to support police officers by conducting routine patrols and providing extra public safety services at community events and other large-scale
emergencies.
