Ha Long Bay recently opened in New Hyde Park to the delight of locals who don’t have to travel to the city anymore to get their fill of Vietnamese food.

The menu features sandwiches like their classic which is shredded pork and Vietnamese ham, pork chop sandwich, chicken sandwich, and sardine sandwich ($9). Appetizers include summer rolls with shrimp (2 pieces for $7), pork spring rolls (5 pieces for $9), salt pepper chicken wings (6 pieces for $9), and shrimp papaya salad ($9). There’s also beef, chicken, pork, or vegetable pho noodle soup ($13). They also serve bubble tea.

On Yelp, Evangelia L, from Garden City, said she was happy to find this place so close to home.

“A new Vietnamese restaurant that I don't have to drive all the way into Queens for?” she wrote. “Saw this place in my Yelp recommendations... Had to check it out. So glad that I did. I have to say, wow !! I'm very impressed.”

Michael A, who lives in Nassau County, agreed.

“I was amazed to learn that a Vietnamese takeout opened right in the neighborhood,” he wrote. “Could it be good? Would we have a new place to order from? Do they deliver? So many questions and only one way to find out - call and try.”

Did it pass his test?

“Ha Long Bay is a great addition to the neighborhood that I'm sure we will order from often. I'd suggest you give it a try.”
