19-Year-Old Woman Found Dead at Home from Overdose, Police Arrest Man Who Sold Oxycodone Pills

East Meadow, NY - February 11, 2017 - The Major Case Squad reports an arrest for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance which occurred on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:50 pm in East Meadow.

According to Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives, at 8:20 am Third Precinct patrol officers responded to a Barbara Drive home for an overdose assignment.  Upon arrival at the scene a 19 year old female was discovered on the floor deceased.  An investigation by detectives and the patrol officers led to the identification of Bruno A. Mendez, 28, of East Meadow as the person who sold the victim oxycodone pills.  The detectives located Mendez and placed him under arrest.  At the time of his arrest Mendez was in possession of two oxycodone pills.

Mendez is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and will be arraigned on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
