SCPD Crime Alert: Man Attempts to Rob Farmingville Bank

Farmingville, NY - February 12th, 2014 - Suffolk County Pattern Crime detectives are investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred today at a Chase bank in Farmingville.

A man entered the bank, located at 2430 North Ocean Ave., approached a teller and displayed a note demanding cash. When the teller did not immediately comply with the demand, the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The robber is described as a black male, between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, sunglasses and a white baseball hat.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
