Green Acres Mall is excited to host two special events on Friday, February 20, 2026, celebrating culture, community and tradition! More information is included below.

What: Celebrate the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Fire Horse, with a special Lion Dance performance by the New York Chinese Freemasons Athletic Club, the oldest Chinese lion dance organization in New York City. Guests of all ages can enjoy free samples from Quickway Japanese Hibachi, featuring teriyaki chicken and California rolls, as well as a paper flower craft activity led by the Traditional Cultural Reviving Center. The main celebration kicks off at 3:00pm with a red envelope and fortune cookie giveaway, and the first 100 guests will receive a free drink from Kung Fu Tea. Experience the Lion Dance performance at 4:00pm, followed by a festive parade through the mall and photo opportunities to continue the celebration.

Black History Month Celebration

What: Join us as we celebrate 100 years of Black history with an afternoon of music, culture, and community. From 2:30pm to 4:30om, enjoy the Cops and Kids DJ Program for music and community connection. From 3:30pm to 4:00pm, watch a cultural dance performance by Perfection Dance School, followed by a scholarship award presentation. The celebration concludes with a Black History Month Game Show from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, where guests can test their knowledge, celebrate Black culture, and compete for gift card prizes.
