Plainview, NY - February 11, 2019 - To ensure veterans know their service is appreciated all year long, Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) teamed up with Girl Scout troops 3258 and 3672 to make Valentine’s Day greetings for veterans on Thursday, Jan. 31.
At the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s Jamaica Avenue School, the Scouts, led by Troop leader Tracy Gorman, created dozens of handcrafted cards, each bearing a message of gratitude, that will be distributed to local veterans’ organizations.
“Through innovative programs like these, Girl Scouts are learning from a young age to appreciateand celebrate the courageous service of our veterans,” Legislator Drucker said. “I am thankful to Tracy Gorman for organizing this effort and to all of the Girl Scouts who took the time to express their gratitude through these heart-warming cards.”
