Hauppauge, NY - February 11th, 2016 - Legislator Kara Hahn this week welcomed Reverend Brenda D. Ford, Stony Brook University’s Protestant Chaplain and Pastor of the Protestant Campus Ministry to the Suffolk County Legislature to offer the customary invocation delivered at the beginning of each general session of the governing body.

Reverend Ford joined the Stony Brook University Campus Community in 2009 and is an Ordained African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Itinerant Elder, a certified women’s employment life coach, Christian Counselor, trainer of councilors in clergy misconduct and trainer for the prevention of domestic violence and elder abuse.

The Reverend holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Management, a Masters in Community Health and received a Master of Divinity from Columbia University’s Union Theological Seminary.
