Commack, NY - February 9, 2017 - Sue Ciano, widow of slain Suffolk County Police Officer Glen Ciano, will be on site as Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy D. Sini, SCPD Chief of Department Stuart Cameron and Commack Fire Department Commissioner Pat Fazio honor the fallen officer by donating blood during a press conference to announce the 7th annual Officer Glen Ciano Blood Drive. The press conference will take place on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Bohemia Donor Center, 3125 Veterans Memorial Highway in Ronkonkoma.

Officer Glen Ciano was on-duty when he was killed by a drunk driver on February 22, 2009.

This year’s blood drive is especially timely to meet the needs of a critical shortage of more than 2,000 pints due to donation cancellations because of the recent blizzard.

The blood drive will take place at the Commack Fire Department located at 6309 Jericho Turnpike, Commack, on Saturday, February 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Suffolk County Police Department encourages all to participate in the memory of P.O. Glen Ciano as community blood supplies are at a critical low and reserves help ensure future availability for people in need.
