A groundswell of community goodwill has resulted in a GoFundMe campaign for an East Meadow family that has lost everything in a devastating fire that took place this past weekend.
The home of Kim and Ralph Maresco and their two sons shockingly went up in flames on Saturday, February 7; thankfully, the family made it out of their dwelling safely, thanks to the efforts of the responding North Bellmore Fire Department, but all of their belongings were unfortunately destroyed and the residence sustained serious damage in the blaze.
To assist the family in their hour of needs, a GoFundMe campaign has been started by Darlene Paskiewicz, with a goal of $14,000; so far, $2,080 has been raised. The funds, according to the campaign, will go toward the following:
This family now faces an overwhelming road to recovery. They have lost:
• Their home and all most of their personal belongings
• Clothing, furniture, toys, keepsakes (years of memories), and essentials
• A safe space for their children to grow and thrive
No family should have to start over this way as the cost of living is already almost impossible to sustain here in NY.
Your contribution, no matter how big or small will go directly toward:
- Temporary housing and accommodation
- Clothing and household essentials
- Food and everyday living expenses
- Support for replacing items lost in the fire
- Damages to the home
Anything you can give (even a small amount) will be IMMENSELY appreciated!!
