East Meadow Apartment Building Fire Results in Six Residents Suffering Smoke Inhalation, Officials Say

The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:35 pm in East Meadow.
 
According to Detectives, First Precinct Police Officers responded to a 911 call for a two-story multiple dwelling fire located at 425 Newbridge Road. Upon arrival, officers observed a heavy smoke condition and began evacuating all surrounding apartments. 
 
The North Bellmore Fire Department and neighboring fire departments responded to extinguish the flames. Six (6) residents suffered smoke inhalation and were transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation. The Nassau County Fire Marshal, the Arson Bomb Squad and Town of Hempstead Department of Buildings responded to the scene.
