The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for both Nassau and Suffolk Counties, which will go into effect tonight at 6 PM, and stay in effect until 12 PM Wednesday afternoon.

Accumulations of 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected throughout the region, and low visibilities of half a mile or less is expected while the Advisory is in effect, and drivers are urged to take caution on the roads.

Also in effect from 8 PM until 11 PM this evening for Southern Nassau County, and Southwestern Suffolk County is a Coastal Flood Warning. The NWS warns that vulnerable shore roads, and properties along the shoreline may be impacted, and that several road closures will be needed during this time.
