Duo Arrested for Brutal Levittown Assault with Pipe

Levittown, NY - February 8th, 2016 - Second Squad detectives report the arrests two Levittown men for an Assault that occurred on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:10 pm in Levittown.

According to detectives, while exiting his place of employment, Escorza Restaurant located at 2715 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, the 30 year old male victim was approached by Carlos Alfredo-Rivera, 20, and Darwin Noel Caballero, 20, both of Saddle Lane. Defendant Alfredo-Rivera grabbed the victim punched and kicked him numerous after throwing him onto the ground.  Defendant Caballero then struck the victim over the head with an aluminum pipe.

Darwin Noel Caballero has been charged with Assault 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, February 8, 2016 in First District Court, Hempstead.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he received treatment for his injuries and released.

Alfredo-Rivera remained at scene and was placed under arrest. Defendant Caballero fled scene and surrendered to detectives on Monday, February 8, 2016.

Alfredo-Rivero was charged with Assault 2nd degree and was arraigned on Saturday, February 7, 2016.

Caballero is charged with Assault 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree.  He will be arraigned on Monday, February 8, 2016 in First District Court, Hempstead.
