Cops: Couple Placed Under Arrest in Connection with Rockville Centre Vehicle Break-Ins, Theft

Rockville Centre, NY - February 6, 2018 - The First Squad reports the arrest of Dawn Goldstein, 29, of Elmont, and Richard Alvarez, 37, of Valley Stream in connection with Grand Larcenies that occurred on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Rockville Centre.
 
According to detectives, the female victim parked her 2017 Hyundai Tuscan in the rear parking lot of 40 Maple Avenue. The victim returned to her vehicle approximately an hour later and discovered her vehicle’s rear passenger widow was shattered. A wallet, undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, credit cards, and a pocket book were removed from the vehicle.
 
A short time later, defendants Goldstein and Alvarez allegedly entered CVS, located at 668 Sunrise Highway, Baldwin, and used one of the victim’s credit cards.
 
The following vehicles were also reported damaged in the area on the same date:
 
  • 2017 Acura at 100 Hempstead Avenue (parking lot). The front passenger window was damaged. No loss was reported.
  • 2013 Chevrolet Equinox on Ohio Street. The front passenger window was shattered. A hand bag containing a watch and gift certificate was removed.
Both defendants were charged with 3 counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Possession Stolen Property 4th Degree, 2 counts of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree and 2 counts of Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. Alvarez was charged with an additional count of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. Goldstein was previously arraigned on February 3, 2018 in First District Court. Alvarez will be arraigned in First District Court on February 6, 2018.
