Man Found Dead in Patchogue

Patchogue, NY - February 6, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found in his home in Patchogue yesterday.

A friend visiting the victim's home found Daniel Gaber dead inside the upstairs apartment where he lived alone. The friend called 911 and Fifth Precinct Patrol officers responded.  Gaber was pronounced dead at the scene by a Physician’s Assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Gaber, 41, was transported to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

The cause of death is currently under investigation.  Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Homicide Squad detectives at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
